ABOUT US

ASHO is a non-political and non-profit organization committed to initiating and supporting holistic human development in Amuru. Our aim is to help communities overcome socio-economic challenges such as poverty, epidemics, displacement, and violence. Through collaborative efforts and innovative solutions, we strive to build a brighter future for all residents of the Amuru district.

Vision
ASHO envisions a future where the Amuru district and its surrounding communities thrive in peace, social harmony, and sustainable development.

Mission
Our mission at ASHO is to initiate and support holistic human development in the Amuru district. We are committed to assisting the community in overcoming multifaceted socio-economic challenges, including poverty, epidemics, mass displacement, violence, and the aftermath of social instability.

Objectives
ASHO has outlined the following specific objectives to guide our efforts:

Mobilizing Resources for Disaster Relief: ASHO recognizes the urgent need to support survivors of disasters in the Amuru district. To address this critical issue, ASHO is dedicated to mobilizing resources through various channels, including donations and contributions from members, non-members, and charitable organizations in the Diaspora. These resources will be utilized to provide immediate relief to affected individuals and communities, ensuring access to basic human necessities such as food, clean drinking water, clothing, temporary shelter, and essential healthcare services. By mobilizing resources in times of crisis, ASHO aims to alleviate suffering, restore dignity, and provide hope to those facing the aftermath of disasters.

Supporting Displaced Communities: In the wake of conflicts and instability, many communities in the Amuru district have been forcibly displaced from their homes, leaving behind their livelihoods and facing uncertain futures. ASHO is committed to supporting these displaced communities by facilitating their return, resettlement, and rehabilitation processes. Through comprehensive assistance programs, ASHO aims to provide essential support services, including shelter assistance, livelihood opportunities, psychosocial support, and access to education and healthcare. By empowering displaced communities to rebuild their lives and communities, ASHO seeks to promote stability, resilience, and long-term sustainable development.

Establishing Rehabilitation Centers: ASHO recognizes the unique challenges faced by vulnerable groups, including orphans, elders, single mothers, and fathers who have lost their loved ones in conflicts. To address their specific needs and provide essential support, ASHO is dedicated to facilitating the establishment of rehabilitation centers in the Amuru district. These centers will serve as safe havens and holistic care facilities, offering a range of services such as counseling, vocational training, healthcare, and social support. By providing a nurturing environment for healing and empowerment, ASHO aims to restore hope, dignity, and resilience to those affected by conflict and displacement.

Building Basic Institutions for Communal Development: At the heart of sustainable communal development lie essential institutions such as schools, clinics, and community centers. ASHO recognizes the vital role these institutions play in promoting education, healthcare, and community engagement in the Amuru district. Therefore, ASHO is committed to contributing towards the establishment of such institutions, working in collaboration with local communities, and other stakeholders. These institutions will not only provide essential services but also serve as catalysts for social cohesion, economic development, and collective empowerment. By investing in basic institutions, ASHO aims to lay the foundation for a brighter and more prosperous future for all residents of the district.
